Governors

On behalf of the Governing Board of St Catherine’s may I welcome you to our school and wish all parents and children a long and successful association with us.

The role of school governance is strategic in nature:

• as a Catholic school, to maintain its ethos ensuring the faith is core to all aspects of the curriculum and school life.
• to work with the school leaders to create a vision for the school, and the strategy to achieve that vision.
• to support and challenge the school leaders in everything relating to the educational performance of the school.
• to monitor the financial performance of the school to ensure money is well spent.

We are blessed with committed and enthusiastic governors, most of whom have been parents of children at the school at one time or another. They give their time voluntarily and bring skills from a wide variety of backgrounds, for the benefit of the school and the children in our care.

As Chair of Governors I am proud to be part of the school, and never tire of coming in to see the vibrant community of learning and witness to the Catholic faith. I encourage all parents to take every opportunity to engage with the school, such as parent partnership days, visiting during our themed weeks, and supporting events run by our successful PTA.
