Year 6 Bakhita

Josephine Margaret Bakhita was a Sudanese-Italian Canossian religious sister who lived in Italy for 45 years, after having been a slave in Sudan. In 2000 she was declared a saint by the Catholic Church.

Year 6 is a language rich environment! We love to base our writing on literature from all over the world and different periods of times. We believe in exposing children to a breadth of literature to help enhance and build their vocabulary.

In Year 6, we have our English map, but we work towards ticking off the standards on our ITAF map above.
We will be working hard to become secure with our arithmetic and to learn strategies to solve reasoning problems this year.
We love doing practical activities in Science to make our learning more fun and memorable. We are starting by learning about living things and their habitats.
In Year 6, we try to teach RE in a cross-curricular and engaging way! This could be through dance, art and music, or a newspaper report and drama. RE is one of our favourite subjects! We begin every lesson with a prayer and end our sessions by offering our work to the Lord
